Monday 13th July

Council of the European Union:Eurogroup: Brussels, 18:00.

Statement on the appointment of the President of the Eurogroup Ministers held a follow up discussion on the agreement negotiated at the Eurogroup and the Euro Summit over the last two days, following the request by Greece for financial assistance from the European Stability Mechanism, submitted on 9 July 2015.

On 13 July the euro area leaders agreed on a set of measures to be implemented before the formal negotiations on a new ESM programme can begin. The President briefly presented the next steps that are expected to be taken according to the agreement: By Wednesday (15 July) Greece is expected to implement the first set of measures outlined in the Euro Summit statement

Then the national procedures, which are necessary for authorising the start of negotiations on the programme, would begin. Following the national procedures, the Eurogroup will be able to give the institutions a mandate to start negotiations with the Greek authorities on a new Memorandum of Understanding. In parallel to the negotiations the Greek authorities will continue implementing the agreed measures. The final formal decision on the ESM programme would then be taken.

Bridge financing. The Eurogroup decided to set up an ad-hoc working group of experts which will explore all possible options and will report later this week. The Eurogroup will then hold a conference call on this issue to decide on the next steps.

– Euro Summit:Press Release ore 18:00. Statement on the appointment of the President of the Eurogroup. The Eurogroup reappointed Jeroen Dijsselbloem as President of the Eurogroup for the next 2,5 years. This decision was unanimously supported by all Eurogroup members.

European Commission: Workshop on the New eGovernment Action Plan 2016-2020: European Commission, Avenue de Beaulieu 25, 1160 Brussels. The aim of this workshop is to gather the views and opinions from key stakeholders on their expections from the new action plan to improve citizens and businesses experience when interacting with public administration and their relationship with government.

The discussions will be structured around three sessions:

Policy principles: our aim is to identify the underlying principles for future public administrations and institutions in Europe to ensure a well-functioning Digital Single Market, a prosperous economy and wellbeing of citizens.

Key enablers: this session will explore the basic elements the new action plan should take into accounts in order to realise the policy principles.

Strategic objectives: the aim is to identify possible priority areas that can ensure that activities launched under the Action Plan will stimulate innovation and growth, reduce administrative burden speed up service delivery and increase transparency and trust.
