European Commission: Workshop on the New eGovernment Action Plan 2016-2020: European Commission, Avenue de Beaulieu 25, 1160 Brussels. The aim of this workshop is to gather the views and opinions from key stakeholders on their expections from the new action plan to improve citizens and businesses experience when interacting with public administration and their relationship with government.

The discussions will be structured around three sessions:

Policy principles: our aim is to identify the underlying principles for future public administrations and institutions in Europe to ensure a well-functioning Digital Single Market, a prosperous economy and wellbeing of citizens.

Key enablers: this session will explore the basic elements the new action plan should take into accounts in order to realise the policy principles.

Strategic objectives: the aim is to identify possible priority areas that can ensure that activities launched under the Action Plan will stimulate innovation and growth, reduce administrative burden speed up service delivery and increase transparency and trust.

European Commission: European Alliance for Apprenticeships – Innovating the future of vocational education and training (VET): Riga, National Library of Latvia. The Latvian Presidency of the EU and the European Commission organise a high-level event on the European Alliance for Apprenticeships as part of the Meeting of Ministers in charge of Vocational Education and Training (VET), European Social Partners and the Commission. The meeting is organised in two sessions. The main objective of the morning session is to further deepen European cooperation in VET and to identify the key priorities until 2020. This part is reserved for Ministers in charge of VET, European social partners and the European Commission. The afternoon session will be devoted to a further strengthening of the European Alliance for Apprenticeships, which was launched two years ago in Leipzig as a multi-stakeholder initiative to strengthen the quality, supply and image of apprenticeships across Europe. The event will include presentations of success stories and communication tools, as well as discussions on expectations from companies, business organisations and social partners and others on the next steps for the Alliance. A number of new companies and organisations will join the Alliance by making new pledges on developing and providing quality apprenticeships in cooperation between the world of education and the world of work. An exhibition will be organised to encourage further achievements and future possibilities in the development of apprenticeships.
